The project consisted of a new build (approx 4,221m2) motor car dealership facility for Eastern Holdings Ltd at the Axis Business Park, Newbridge (near Edinburgh).

The new development comprised the following new buildings:

• BMW showroom (2 storey) @ 3,678m2

• Mini showroom (1 storey) @ 375m2

• Valet building (1 storey) @ 168m2

Each building is contained within the boundary of Plot 1 of Axis Business Park and share common external lighting and car parking.

TKC were commissioned to carry out the full design of all electrical and mechanical services for the project.

The electrical services design undertaken by us included new sub mains cables and electrical distribution equipment, new sales area lighting, emergency lighting, display lighting, workshop lighting, back of house lighting, small power, car park lighting, floor box power supplies and a full IT services structured cabling system.

The mechanical services design undertaken by us included site wide external water distribution and fire main pipework systems, all heating and ventilation, comfort cooling systems, boosted cold water distribution and a detailed specification for the automatic controls system to coordinate and control all system components. This project was completed on time and on budget.

This project was the construction of a new retail supermarket with customer parking on an abandoned site of approx 35,000ft2 in the borders town of Innerleithen.

TKC were commissioned on a full duties basis to undertake all works required to have utility quotations raised for new primary supplies to be brought into the site and to further engage in dialogue with the local council to arrange the required diversions and reinstatement of existing council owned apparatus.

Our electrical design duties on this project included the incoming electrical supply, internal & external electrical distribution, sales area lighting, emergency lighting, police lighting, display lighting, warehouse lighting, various lighting control arrangements, fire alarms, CCTV, intruder detection and external lighting.

The designs, tender and subsequent site installations were undertaken over a 7 day working week procurement method using a partnering Main Contractor.
